Canon or Nikon? which one do you think is the best brand?
I own a Canon Eos Rebel and a 50D. I already disposed the Rebel thinking that 50D is better. I also own a Canon Power Shot that I always bring in my pouch. Formerly, I bought a Nikon cool pix but I was more impressed with Canon.
How about you?
In technical terms, Nikon by some margin. Nikkor lenses are truly superb, and quite a bit beyond anything Canon has produced.
But it's not quite that simple. Let me give you an example. In the 1980s, Fujica produced a lens which was sharp enough in the centre but resolution fell off dramatically towards the edges. Now landscape photographers would (and did!) pan that lens because they want a nice clear picture all over. But if you were taking mostly portraits, it was a wonderful lens, giving a good clear picture of your subject, with a lovely softness around the edges. The moral being, whatever you find best for your needs IS the best.
Canon or Nikon? - Nikon every time, and in so many ways. But if you find Canon better, don't let anyone tell you different. Enjoy.
