Can I use glossy paper for paper mache?
I am making pinatas with my after-school culture club kids next week and I just found out that my school canceled their newspaper subscription so I no longer have access to a lot of newspaper. I do however have a ton of old magazines that are all printed using glossy paper. Would it be okay to use this paper for paper mache? I have never tried it with anything but normal newspaper... I am just going to be using a flour/water paste to hold everything together...
I always used newspaper paper too, why not visit a recyle bin and pull out some papers, or ask your neighbors for some newspapers.
I am not sure if the glossy paper will be as smoothe as the newsprint, but you could try a small piece.
