Difference between Digital Slr cameras and Compact digital cameras?
I was looking into buying a nice camera, and I noticed that the Nikon Coolpix l100 (10 MP, 15x zoom) is a lot cheaper than the Nikon D 60 (10.2 MP). What makes one way more expensive than the other? And what you recommend as a good first camera?
What does a "first camera" really mean? Is this the first camera you've ever owned? If so, I would not go for the DSLR. They're not complicated to operate but they require care to keep them for a long time.
In other words, stay away from the beech and water and above all don't drop it.
DSLR's are expensive for a reason. Again, if this is your first camera I'd start with something less expensive.
Oh, and I really wouldn't pay any attention the pixel count. A 6mp DSLR will out shoot any (even 15mp) point and shoot all day long.
