How to open the case of a Sony Desktop PCV-w700g?
Needing to add ram and possibly a new Hard Drive. Its an all-in-one desktop screen and all. Am having trouble opening the case to even get inside. There aren't very many screws an am afraid I might cripple it some how. All documentation from the Sony website are useless. Tried searching around the web and no go at that either. All help is appreciated.
There is a reason they are not giving you this information and that is they do not want you getting into it. Sonny is annal about who can repair anything that they make. Anyway, my wife's iMac G5 is an all one computer as well and I would not mess with it myself and I consider myself a good computer repair person. In my opinion if you do not find at least something to give you some sort of an ideal how to brake the case down then I would not go braking into it for fear I could void the warranty or worse brake something.
I will share an experience with you. I was repairing a customers computer and her case was a bear to get into. Once I got it opened it gave way unexpectedly and a wire that was soldered to the motherboard and attached to the case ripped a capacitor from the motherboard. That meant I had to buy her a new motherboard. Think about it before you act.
